1.   Your medical cover under your Travel Insurance will cover you for follow up treatment within Hong Kong.


If you get ill or into an accident whilst overseas, you can continue your treatment in Hong Kong after you return. Most Travel Insurance policies will cover you for up to another 90 days.


2.   Loss of personal money


Yes, your Travel Insurance may cover reimburse you for money that was stolen from you. However, do remember to make a police report once you find that you have lost your money as the police report is needed when you make your claim.


3.   Amateur sports are covered


Amateur sports such as snow skiing, snow boarding, water skiing, wake boarding, scuba diving, rafting, bungee jumping, horse riding etc are typically covered by Travel Insurance. Do check your policy’s Terms and Conditions for what is covered though as there may be limits set for each sport. Eg suba diving beyond a certain depth is not covered.


4.   Some Travel Insurance policies even cover your home contents


If there is any loss or damage to your home contents while you are travelling, eg a burglary or fire, your Travel Insurance may provide coverage and reimburse you for your loss.


5.   Free automatic extension of your policy


If you are unavoidably delayed from returning to Hong Kong, your policy may be automatically extended to cover the remaining period that you are overseas. Depending on which policy you buy, the extension given may be between to 10 to 14 days, giving you a peace of mind should you be delayed from returning.
